  • Coconut Water and Health Rewards

Coconut water has been a common drink in certain areas of the planet for hundreds of years or even more. India, for instance, stands out as the biggest exporter of coconut worldwide which is a reasonably large industry. Coconut juice is loved because of its taste, vitamins and minerals, and various other benefits daily around the globe.

coconut water nutrition Recently, the benefits of coconut water have gained attention in the United States. Apparently without warning, coconut water has become a fashionable beverage famous people enjoy, say, throughout a exercise routine. The general public have begun to catch on to the craze, too, and so have some significant soft beverage companies. Coca Cola and Pepsi have both purchased partial ownership of companies who manufacture and market coconut water. A number of other manufacturers have already been creating the beverage already for a while.

Even though it is a bit trendy, coconut juice does provide nutritional value. It is full of electrolytes, which improve and benefit hydration, and it has a lot of natural vitamins as well. What this means is it is a fantastic water alternative and possibly a little more beneficial to drink particularly if you are going to do so while participating in physical exercise of some kind.

Personally, my favorite brand of coconut water to date is Goya, who has been producing it for a long time. I haven't tried Coke or Pepsi’s versions of the product even though I actually do have a container of Zico coconut water sitting in the refrigerator that I haven’t tried yet. The Goya version has a lot of coconut flesh in it which is what I love but some people aren’t so crazy about it. If you don’t like pulp in your orange juice you might want to try another brand because I actually chew the flesh in the Goya water, and there is quite a bit in there. I just swallow it down sometimes but once I did choke so I don't do that any more. I am totally serious about this.

  • I Thought Everyone Knew About the Coconut Water Hangover Treatment?

coconut water Over the last few years coconut water has had a huge surge in popularity in the United States. Only a decade ago, the coconut business (which is absolutely massive in some parts of the world) hardly even touched the United States. Folks in the U.S. either weren’t conscious of it at all or just had no interest. I personally had never even heard of the stuff until maybe 4-5 years ago, when it was still largely unheard of but beginning to gain popularity in some circles.

For instance, physical trainers started suggesting it as opposed to water or Gatorade to stay hydrated during training regimens. If you are a health and fitness nut then you probably already know all about the coconut water benefits. When celebrities like Madonna caught on to the trend it caught the eye of consumers, too. Media coverage grew and many people are aware of, and enjoy, coconut water in the USA these days.

As coconut drink has caught on among more and more people, college kids have put their own twist on it and started to use it as a hangover remedy. Ironically, the same attributes that make coconut water a great hydration beverage also make it a great hang over remedy.

I have always been pretty skeptical of hangover remedies in general. I have never really felt like anything worked that great. Of course, some things definitely help but how much anything actually helps is debatable at best. There are some things that help minimize the agony after the fact but I have never really felt there was any reliable, tried and true “trick” or “secret” that could magically take away a hangover.

Unfortunately, coconut water isn't really all that different. It helps, but it's no miracle cure. You won't go from toilet camper to repeat offender but you might feel a little better in an hour or so. However, it will help significantly and that's why it got my attention. I drank one right before I went to bed and one the next day and I felt much, much better than I normally would have. I say its worth a shot - it works at least as good as any other “remedy” you could try.

  • Distinctions Amongst Coconut Water Brands

coconut water A lot of new brands and products have popped up on the market in the last few years since coconut water started to get popular. There are all sorts of coconut oil and different beverages you can buy to take advantage of the health benefits. I have never tried the oils because I like to have it as a tasty beverage. Drinking water is just too boring for me. Even so, nobody can deny the benefits of coconut water even though a few haters out there are trying to ruin it for everybody. For instance, there were some claims that coconut water can decrease the potential for cancer. I have no idea if this is true or not and my hunch says nobody else does, either. So, even though I wouldn't recommend it as a cancer cure, that doesn't mean it isn't still really healthy and good for you.

A couple big soft drink companies have stakes in coconut water now too. I love Goya myself, and they have been making it for a while now. Meanwhile, Vita Coco coconut water is yet another manufacturer that has gained traction. Coconut water generally is definitely a well-liked, trendy drink that a lot of celebrities, such as Madonna, enjoy having throughout a exercise routine. It's also probably the most likely hydration beverage to see in the gym or to be recommended by a personal trainer.

I don't think there are huge differences from brand to brand. If you aren't into the trendiness and just want a good, inexpensive one then Goya is definitely the way to go. I also like that it has a lot of coconut flesh in it but many people don’t buy it for that same reason. It is just what each person prefers.

I went out and bought one of each over the course of a month to try them. If you aren't sure which to get then you could do the same. It won’t cost you more than ten bucks or so and you can find out which one you like best. Many companies also make flavored versions, many of which are great. I like it plain but I can be partial to the peach flavored coconut water Goya makes from time to time.

I have met very few people who try it and don’t like it. It is very mildly sweet, and if you get it plain it really isn’t all that different from regular water. That means it is a great substitute and maybe even better then the rest because you get all the electrolytes and vitamins.
